Dr. Bradley Schmidt, DACVIM

Board Certified Oncologist, Tier 1 Veterinary Medical Center

Born and raised in Montana, Dr. Bradley Schmidt was excited about the prospect of moving to the Last Frontier when he learned about Tier 1 Veterinary Medical Center opening in Palmer, Alaska.  

His career as a board-certified oncologist allowed him to travel extensively throughout the United States.  From 2008 to 2018, Dr. Schmidt served the Jacksonville, Florida area.  As the Head of Oncology for Tier 1 Veterinary Medical Center, Dr. Bradley Schmidt works with patients to outline extensive chemotherapy plans which include intravenous, oral or intralesional options. Dr. Schmidt will work with patients to provide recommendations for surgery and/or radiation therapy treatment plans. 

While an oncologist by training, Dr. Schmidt has developed a particular interest in internal medicine, and he will be available to diagnosis and treat a variety of internal medicine case including undiagnosed conditions, endocrine disease (diabetes mellitus, hyperadrenocorticism) and gastrointestinal tract diseases (inflammatory bowel disease, food allergies).

Dr. Schmidt's skill set includes medical oncology, working with surgical and radiation oncologist, ultrasound, diagnostic endoscopy and colonoscopy, endoscopic foreign body retrieval, and bronchoscopy.

The Tier 1 Veterinary Medical Center's ability to hospitalize patients and utilize the rehabilitation center ensures that when undergoing chemotherapy or extensive surgeries that your pets are afforded the best possible recovery a hospital can offer.
