• Redness and irritation at the treatment site
• Hair loss in the treatment area
• Mild fatigue Long-term recovery focuses on monitoring for recurrence and managing any late-onset side effects. Pets generally return to their normal activities soon after treatment, although ongoing veterinary check-ups are necessary to monitor the pet’s progress and health.

Preparing your pet for radiation therapy involves:

• Ensuring they are in good health to handle anesthesia.
• Following the vet’s instructions regarding feeding and medications before treatment.
• Arranging for your pet to have a quiet place to recover after each treatment session.
